Fall is here! Everything you see is pumpkin spice. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. I mean, come on; we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! January 1st rolls around and I wait all year for October to get here again. Hoodies, bonfires, s’mores, decorations….on and on and on. I did say this was my favorite time of the year, right?
I had always heard about scones and seen pictures of them but had never tried to make them or tasted one. So, one morning I was feeling creative and came across this recipe. They were simple to make and tasted great; whether for breakfast, snack, or dessert. My husband said they were pretty good and he’s not much of a pumpkin fan (oh the shame). The kids loved them. My oldest would have ate the whole batch if allowed.
The texture is almost like a biscuit just to give you an idea if you have never had one.
The icing is the only thing I changed up. I only make about half of what the recipe calls for, otherwise, I have a lot left over. Also, instead of using the milk and additional spices, I just used some pumpkin spice creamer that I had in the fridge. It just adds that much more flavor but either way is wonderful.
